I'm translating a birth certificate and it mentions the maiden name of the mother in the classical German form "geborene", e.g

Heike Meyer geborene Schneider

What would be the correct English way:

Heike Meyer born Schneider

Heike Meyer maiden name Schneider

both feel weird. Any hint is appreciate

This question does not really have much to do with the German language, does it? It would be a better fit for english.stackexchange.com but there it was answered already: english.stackexchange.com/questions/42887/…. – Takkat Mar 3 at 22:16
