comment What's the quality of clip2go?
This question is a little vague for this site. Try specifying exactly what you want opinions of. For example: "Does the pronunciation sound native?" or "Are the texts written in colloquial or formal language? Are the texts correct?"

comment How to write an ß?
If "Unterlänge" means the part of a letter which extends below the line, you use "descender" in English.

@mbx: You're right "downstroke" is not used specifically for the first stroke of a word or letter. I'll correct it. Thanks for the comment!

comment W → V, V → F. Why do German speakers wrongly transpose rather than shift when speaking English?
+1 Exactly! Germans are eager to show off that they have learned the sound in "wet", but since "v" and "w" are overlapping in their own language they sometimes overdo it.

comment How useful for a complete beginner is the FSI German courses?
@Robert: Find some German audio samples and record yourself repeating the audio. You can hear surprisingly many pronunciation errors when playing your recording which you can't hear if you're speaking at the same time. You can correct these errors before actually approaching a native speaker.

comment Online resource which has easy German to read with its English translation
No, I meant a "reader" as in "reading exercise". Anyway, the text is much clearer after Tim's edit.

comment How separate are “durchfallen” and “der Durchfall”?
for me it's helpful to think that durchfallen inherits the auxiliary verb from the verb fallen. That way we can keep the rule that zu sein as an auxiliary verb only occurs with movement verbs and those verbs which expresses a Zustandsänderung.

Es gibt beispiele für den dialektischen Unterschied zwischen mir und mich im Link von Takkats Antwort. Und mit dem letzten Satz hast du den Nagel genau auf den Kopf getroffen.
