Ich habe im modernen Text sowohl Concilium als auch Concilio mit Konzil übersetzt. Wobei ich hier vermute, dass Concilium das gesamte Konzil meint (das über 4 Jahre andauerte) und Concilio ein tatsächliches Treffen der Priester (eine Sitzung).

+1, wobei die Alternative nach Hackfleischspieß-Art von der Optik wahrscheinlich auch keinen großen Unterschied zur Variante mit Leerzeichen machen würde.

I'd add that Es tut mir Leid is more personal (i.e. used if someone passed away) and used to express your own grief over something (=> I'm sorry) while Entschuldigen Sie bitte is used if you seek the acknowledgment of the other (=> Please excuse my action).
