An addendum: If one wants to capture the abstract motion expressed by the verb “laufen” which underlies and explains all of its meanings, I'd say it would be to fluently follow a (maybe predetermined) path step-by-step as in “Die Zeit läuft.” – almost flowing. This is a very subjective impression, though. I wonder who agrees.

Oct 12	comment	What does “laufen” mean other than walking and running? There are other meanings as well: “Was läuft im Fersehen?” – “What's on TV?” I'm to tired to examine the usage of “laufen”. But one can always consult the dictionary. The way it's used in the sentence of your concern can be literally translated to “There are many such little men walking around.” without losing meaning. It actually suggests that they are indeed walking.

Oct 11	comment	Satzbeginn mit Kleinbuchstaben aufgrund Eigenname? Eine Kleinschreibung am Anfang ist sehr irritierend und sieht in der Tat falsch aus. In solchen Fällen schreibt man das Wort, denke ich, am besten groß, insbesondere da die Großschreibung am Anfang des Satzes die Funktion hat, seinen Beginn zu kennzeichnen. Die Frage ergibt sich auch in jeder Sprache, in der man das erste Wort eines Satzes großschreibt. Ich schätze mal, die Antwort wird überall dieselbe sein.
Oct 11	comment	Verwendung von “dieser” und “jener” Man hätte, wäre es beispielsweise um ein Verb gegangen, auf das schöne Wörterbuch zur Valenz und Distribution Deutscher Verben von Helbig und Schenkel verweisen können, und noch mal genauer zu anderen Verwendungsmöglichkeiten der Wörter abgrenzen können. Ich finde es gewissermaßen logisch, was du schreibst, aber es reicht mir nicht ganz zu einem Gesamtbild; die Möglichkeit, mir dazu Weiteres anzuschauen, fehlt mir.

Ich meinte wohl „klassische Musik“ – ich habe auch immer versucht, die Epochen fein zu unterscheiden, bis mir jemand weisgemacht hat, dass man so gehobene Musik einfach unter dem Sammelbegriff der klassischen Musik zusammenfasst. (Ich jedenfalls höre beides gerne, Kool Savas und Vivaldi.) ((Gleichzeitig!!)
