No, that doesn't work. You can't say "eine Vermutung" or "keine Vermutung", it's always "Ich hatte die Vermutung". If you want to negate it, you have to rephrase and go with "Ich hätte nie vermutet" or something similar.

Tom, "vorne"can mean "standing in front", as in, in the front of the room or the crowd, but NOT "standing in front of someone," as in, facing them. English doesn't really make that distinction, and I'm not sure how to explain it any better, I'm sorry. But in the context of that song, you most definitely can't use that word.
