Schweizerisch oder Schweizer? Ups, ich habe mich wohl nicht deutlich ausgedrückt, mir ging es um die allgemeine Verwendung. Edit: Frage angepasst. Für mich wäre Schweizer Käse aber auch "normal" und richtig, weil es eben so im Käseregal steht. Aber das heisst ja nicht, dass es auch richtig ist. |

“Keine Arme, keine Schokolade!” Ich kenne da diesen Contergan Witz, bekomme ihn aber nicht mehr zusammen. Essenz ist, dass das Kind in der Küche sitzt und die Mutter bittet die Keksdose vom Schrank herunterzuholen worauf sie sagt "Tja, keine Arme, keine Kekse." Wörterbücher für Fachsprache / Dictionaries for terminology in specific domains Wenn es sich nur um einzelne Wörter handelt nutze ich in der Regel Wikipedia, d.h. suche in der Wikipedia der einen Sprache nach dem Begriff und schalte dann auf die andere um. Aber dort wirklich was zu finden, was den aktuellen Stand der Forschung wiederspiegelt wird natürlich schwer. |

Do we use “Du” or “Sie” to address users in a German operation manual? But "Kommen sie Frau Meyer, jetzt nehmen wir mal ihre Pillen" is just plain wrong, the medical assistant hopefully does not take Mrs. Meyers pills. Being addressed by "wir" makes me feel that the other person does not take me serious. Of course its just a personal opinion. |

Do we use “Du” or “Sie” to address users in a German operation manual? There is another alternative: "Es kann auf diese Art gemacht werden". Using "man" too often can sound strange, but I think thats the case for Du and Sie too. |
