Dec 4 at 0:41 comment added ASlateff Thanks for the link to your private POV on normative questions. If you want this StackExchange to be about a descriptive POV only, then please rename it into "Descriptive POV of German Language" or the like. Otherwise the name is misleading. As long as its name is just "German Language", your own POV is way too narrow! (Have you ever considered, that YOUR POV could be way too narrow?) There are normative instances, e.g. Duden Redaktion and others. They are not totalitarian, but they are normative. I don't want to discuss here these topics you mentioned, because they are OT here.
Aug 18 at 12:41 comment added Jonathan Herrera I deleted those comments, as this is not what comments are for on this website. Please refer to "When should I comment?" / "When should I not comment" sections of german.stackexchange.com/help/privileges/comment. If you want to discuss this, german.meta.stackexchange.com is the place to go. The website sticks to a descriptive approach to language, not a normative one, as discussed here: german.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/1489/normative-fragen Your remarks about non-native speakers, people living outside of DACH, and so on, are full of unjustified assumptions.
Aug 12 at 19:23 comment added ASlateff First: I don't know, who dares to delete comments here... I'm a native speaker, living in Austria. Why do we have to accept downvoting and cencorship, done by non-native speakers, who also do not live neither in Germany, Austria, nor Switzerland, but want to misuse StackExchange for political propaganda? I had provided several links to serious sources, including the German Society for German Language, and other links, all of which got deleted. German language does not have gender. The term “gender” belongs to the social sciences. German language does have (grammatical) genus, not gender.
Feb 11 at 22:25 comment added Jonathan Herrera Hi ASlateff! Your answer makes a claim about what is correct in German. The topic of gender neutral language is highly debated amongst speakers of German, and your answer fails to address this fact. Please have a look at this thread on Meta: german.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/1340/…
