May 13, 2014 at 21:55 comment added Hagen von Eitzen If it is dative (or today perceied as dative) it must be interpreted as pars per toto, i.e. the Nachfrage represents the person posing the Nachfrage. Personally, I feel this rather to be a genitive, but have nothing to support this, so leave it at thi comment.

May 13, 2014 at 11:30 comment added c.p. @WalterTross No, the writer is not close to France either.
May 12, 2014 at 15:13 comment added Walter Tross @Em1, because I suspect that this genitive could be more alive in regions that have had more contact to French in the last centuries. But, as a second thought, since we are talking of business letter language, this should matter only marginally.
May 12, 2014 at 13:57 comment added Em1 @WalterTross Just curious. What is the reason you asking this?
May 12, 2014 at 11:36 comment added Walter Tross @c.p., by writer I mean the person who wrote "Danke der Nachfrage"

May 11, 2014 at 17:35 comment added Vogel612 @Em1 I think it would be a shame to close as duplicate with so little in common in the original question. You want to write an answer?
